The National Education Association believes that:
"The goal of the Common Core State Standards (CCSS) is to provide a clear, consistent understanding of what students are expected to learn, so teachers and parents know what they need to do to help them. The standards are designed to be robust and relevant to the real world, reflecting the knowledge and skills that young people need for success in college and careers.... The Common Core State Standards have the potential to provide access to a complete and challenging education for all children."
Our chapter supports and corroborates this viewpoint.

Being able to assist and support the communities we serve is of the utmost importance to our chapter.
We are proud to serve and help support the Newark, Orange, South Orange, and Maplewood schools and communities in which our campus is centrally located.
We are proud to also assist in supporting the Trenton community, in which our NJEA state headquarters are located.
High Stakes Testing
Our chapter believes that while formative and summative assessments are a necessary and integral component to every classroom, too much high stakes testing puts unnecessary anxiety and pressure on students and teachers.
We believe that a child's learning is progressive and should not be assumed based on one nerve-wracking test.
